3D Motion Capture
Our advanced motion capture system allows us to digitally capture and quantify incredibly precise movements. We attach reflective markers and then track their movements using up to 17 infrared cameras. Using this technique, we can accurately identify objects and their movements in space relative to one another. This allows us to quantify the human interaction with equipment to guide ergonomic design, through to analysing deformation of different materials in design prototyping.
3D Motion capture allows you to analyse changes in movement
We use Motion Analysis Corporation Raptor cameras, operating through Cortex analysis system. This system is fully portable, with the ability to set up on sight with a minimum of three cameras required to capture data. This technology has numerous applications in engineering, ergonomic design, prototyping, medical devices, animation and media.
Our 3D motion capture expertise provides benefits that include:
- Scientific data to guide in the design process. This helps to identify potential design flaws in prototyping.
- Analysis of material deformation, suitably tested with design function in mind.
- Full human motion analysis, including force plates to analyse the human-equipment interaction.
- Provision of motion capture data for future analysis, research and development, animation, and online media.
